Your position is within our Division Bruker Microbiology and Infection Diagnostics (BMID). BMID, as part of the Bruker CALID Group, manufactures and distributes innovative solutions for microbial identification, antibiotic resistance and susceptibility testing, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based molecular diagnostic solutions. Our products are used primarily in clinical diagnostics, as well as in food, beverage, veterinary, environmental and pharma microbiology settings.

The Operations Development Director BMID is responsible for shaping and driving strategic operations initiatives across the BMID organization. This role focuses on manufacturing and logistics network strategy, operational governance, and the execution of high-impact cross-site projects. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with change leadership and project management experience to enable sustainable growth, operational resilience, and efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Logistics Network Strategy

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive manufacturing network strategy based on demand and capacity analysis.
• Identify future risks and opportunities, including footprint consolidation and business continuity risk assessments.
• Collaborate with other functions to improve the global logistics strategy.

Operational Governance

• Own the global Operations KPI dashboard to visualize performance, opportunities, and progress.
• Own the overall Operations Project Funnel. Manage prioritization of operations projects to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Ensure transparency and alignment of operational priorities across sites.

Strategic Operations Projects

• Lead strategic cross-site operations projects like e.g. production transfers.
• Drive integration projects to harmonize processes and systems across the global network.

Change Leadership

• Act as a catalyst for operational transformation, fostering a culture of agility and continuous improvement.
• Engage stakeholders at all levels to secure buy-in and manage resistance during change initiatives.

Team Leadership

• Provide guidance and leadership for project teams.
• Foster collaboration and accountability across functions and sites.

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or equivalent (or Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience).
• 8+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing strategy, or integration roles in a multi-site environment.
• Proven track record in leading complex, cross-functional projects.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in ISO 13485, IVDR or similar regulated environments.
• Fluency in English required; German language skills are a plus. International work experience is required.
